Seifert Malta - Vacancy for a Design Engineer

We are currently seeking to fill in a vacancy for a Design Engineer for our R&D Department that deals directly with our sister company in Germany. The job would be based in Malta but there could be a need for some travel to Germany as may be required. 

The candidate should ideally hold a University degree in Mechanical Engineering at Level 6 or higher. 

Job Responsibilities and Daily Tasks:

  • Lead design project from initial customer contact through to testing, certification and production implementation.
  • Create design concepts and product designs (including 3D CAD models and drawings) in accordance with required  customer and international standards.
  • Implementing product improvements on existing product range.
  • Generate and maintain design documentation
  • Provide technical product support within the company and to its representatives overseas, including following up corrective action requests and customer complaints.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent MQF level)
  • Knowledge of Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
  • Preferably experience in CAD software & product design
  • Able to apply a diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Able to make decisions independently on engineering tasks

Previous work experience in industry would be considered an asset.

Seifert Malta - Vacancies for Tool makers

Vacancy 1:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ Experience in Programming and Operating CNC Machinery (ideally on Siemens Controller).
  • Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
  • Proficient CAD software user.
  • Knowledge of standard machine shop practices on Injection Moulds and Press Tools, dies and jigs.
  • Able to work effectively in a team.

Vacancy 2:

  • Minimum 5 years’ Experience in mould making, repair and maintenance of Injection Moulds and Press Tools; (ideally on Siemens Controller).
  • Able to read and interpret Engineering drawings.
  • Good knowledge of conventional milling machines, lathes, surface grinding and OD grinding.
  • Previous experience in operating Spark Erosion or Wire Erosion machines will be considered as assets.
  • Knowledge of standard machine shop practices, Injection Moulds and Press Tools
  • Able to work effectively in a team.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised Qualification in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering at EQF Level 4 minimum.
  • Good working knowledge of English Language (both spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of MS applications including Word and Excel.
