On the occasion of the 17th meeting of the Arraiolos Group, eleven non-executive heads of state met in Malta on October 6th at the invitation of Maltese President George Vella. The group owes its name to the Portuguese city of Arraiolos, where heads of state met for the first time in 2003 to discuss EU enlargement and other EU-related issues
Prior to his extended visit to the island, Federal President Steinmeier had expressed the desire to visit a German company on site with the focus being on current topics such as sustainability and integration at an international location. Seifert Systems Malta was selected for this and was able to welcome the Federal President on October 7th.
CEO and Chairman Michael Seifert, his wife Wibke Seifert, his production manager (and son) Philipp Seifert and a German-speaking employee representative personally welcomed Mr. Steinmeier on behalf of all Seifert employees.
During the tour of the various Seifert production halls, the Federal President was able to get an idea of the innovative and highly technical production. The tour also led through the new Smart Factory, which will start operations in a few weeks.
As the first location of the Seifert Group and the first company in Malta, Seifert Systems has been producing completely climate neutral since 2020. Mr. Steinmeier had it explained in detail how the new Smart Factory, an additional photovoltaic system, a water treatment system and state-of-the-art surface treatment will continue to ensure the ambitious goal of sustainable and climate neutral production in the future.
The Federal President was very impressed by the facility and its highly functional work processes and wished the family company all the best in the implementation of its goals.
